Role debut in Puccini's 'Tosca' at The Metropolitan Opera

Sonya Yoncheva will make her highly anticipated debut in the title role of Puccini's Tosca in the 2017/18 season at The Metropolitan Opera. Ms. Yoncheva stars as Floria Tosca on December 31, 2017 & January 3, 6, 9, 15, 18, 23 & 27, 2018, in a new production directed by Sir David McVicar, with sets and costumes designed by John Macfarlane. Tenor Vittorio Grigolo sings Mario Cavaradossi and Sir Bryn Terfel is Baron Scarpia for these performances, all conducted by Maestro Andris Nelsons. A Live in HD cinema broadcast will take place for the January 27 performance, and the production's opening night will be featured as a celebratory New Year's Eve event; additional details coming soon at MetOpera.org.

Ms. Yoncheva also sings Tosca in a series of three concert performances with The Philadelphia Orchestra, led by Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin, on May 12, 16 & 19, 2018.
