Sonya Yoncheva as Tosca at Staatsoper Berlin

Following her acclaimed Butterfly in February, Sonya Yoncheva is back at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin for two performances of Tosca.

Sonya returns to the Staatsoper Unter den Linden as Floria Tosca, a role she performed in 2019 in the same Alvis Hermanis production. This 2024 run also features Joseph Calleja as Cavaradossi and Ambrogio Maestri as Scarpia. Ivan Repušić conducts.

Following these shows in Berlin, Sonya will sing the role of the Roman Diva at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Caracalla Festival in Rome and the Ancient Theatre of Plovdiv.

Sonya Yoncheva makes Venezuelan debut

On April 6, Sonya Yoncheva appears for the first time in Venezuela when she performs a concert with Domingo Hindoyan leading the Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar de Venezuela.

On the occasion, Sonya will also sing for the first time in public a Wagner aria, Elisabeth’s “Dich teure Halle” from Tannhäuser. The program also includes the overture to the same opera, Prelude and Liebestod (for orchestra) from Tristan und Isolde, Dvořák’s “Song to the Moon” from Rusalka and Verdi’s “Pace, pace mio Dio” from La forza del destino in the first part. The second part is dedicated entirely to Giacomo Puccini, with “La Tregenda” and “Se come voi piccina” from Le Villi, “Un bel dì vedremo” from Madama Butterfly, “O mio babbino caro” from Gianni Schicchi and “Vissi d’arte” from Tosca.

The concert takes place at 7pm at the Teatro Teresa Carreño in Caracas.
