"Joseph Calleja and Sonya Yoncheva teamed up to give one of the most gorgeous renditions of the Mimì-Rodolfo scene from Act I of La Bohème that has been seen on the company stage in several years ... Yoncheva responded with ravishing colors in “Si, mi chiamano Mimì,” sporting a full soprano that soars easily into the house. She played the scene so convincingly that even in such a limited excerpt, it seemed she had crafted a full portrayal of the character."

"If Sonya Yoncheva's latest take on the big romantic repertory is not to be forgotten, the singer was trained at William Christie's Jardin des Voix and her repertoire even extends to Monteverdi (L 'Incoronazione di Poppea and Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria) ... the voice of Sonya Yoncheva evolved, matured ... Yoncheva knows very well the rules and the diction, and this performance was extremely exciting."see more
