“Marie-Antoinette” in Paris, Toulouse and Compiègne

Sonya Yoncheva will team up again with one of her most important mentors, William Christie, and his ensemble Les Arts Florissants. On the 1st of November, they will present the all new concert program Marie-Antoinette, featuring music from the era of France’s last queen consort. There will be two additional concert dates on November 5 at the Halle aux grains in Toulouse and on November 7 at the Théâtre Impérial of Compiègne.

Sonya will sing arias from Gluck’s Alceste, Iphigénie en Tauride and Armide; Cherubini’s Médée and Démophoon; Piccinni’s Didon and Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito as well as melodies by Chardin and Martini.

Before rocketing to stardom, Sonya was an alumna of William Christie’s Le Jardin des Voix. She started her career in the Baroque and Early Music repertoire, working frequently and closely with the French American conductor.
