January concerts in Gstaad and Salzburg

Sonya Yoncheva will ring in the New Year with a series of remarkable concerts. On January 2, she brings her critically acclaimed Christmas program, “Sonya Yoncheva chante Noël,” to the Gstaad New Year Festival. Accompanied by the Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal de Versailles under the baton of Stefan Plewniak, the program features selections ranging from Handel’s Messiah and Mascagni’s “Ave Maria” to timeless classics such as “White Christmas” and “Stille Nacht”.

Following this, Sonya will join the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Thomas Guggeis for a prestigious concert at Salzburg’s Mozart Week on January 29. On the occasion, Sonya will sing Cleopatra’s arias from Giulio Cesare in Egitto by Handel at the Großes Festspielhaus. The Vienna Philharmonic will also perform Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 1, Mozart’s Adagio and Fugue in C minor, and his Symphony in G minor (2nd version).
