Concert in Lisbon for Gulbenkian Foundation’s 70th-Anniversary Concert

On 18 July 2026, Sonya Yoncheva will appear at the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian in Lisbon for a special concert celebrating the Foundation’s 70th anniversary.

Under the direction of Carlo Rizzi, the Gulbenkian Orchestra and Gulbenkian Choir will present a programme featuring some of the most emblematic works of the European operatic repertoire. Sonya will perform arias by Bizet, Puccini, Dvořák, Massenet and other composers, including Carmen’s celebrated Habanera, “In quelle trine morbide” from Manon Lescaut, Rusalka’s “Song to the Moon”, “Adieu, notre petite table” from Manon and “Il est doux, il est bon” from Hérodiade.

The programme will also include orchestral and choral highlights from Carmen, Cavalleria rusticana, Le Villi, Pagliacci, Faust and Nabucco, alongside Dvořák’s Carnival Overture and Lili Boulanger’s D’un matin de printemps.

The concert will take place in the Grande Auditório of the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian at 7 p.m. Admission is free, subject to availability.

The performance will be filmed by RTP and broadcast live on the Fundação Gulbenkian website.
