First live performance of “George” at Peralada Festival
On 18 July 2025 at the Església del Carme, Castell de Peralada, Sonya Yoncheva presents for the first time live her acclaimed recital CD program George, inspired by the life and literary circle of George Sand. With Olga Zado (piano), Ekaterine Buachidze (mezzo-soprano) and Sara Balasch (violin), she performs a programme that channels the romantic spirit of Sand’s world, including music by Chopin, Delibes, Offenbach, Liszt, Viardot, Tosti, Leoncavallo, and Bellini.
This recital marks yet another return to the Peralada Festival’s magical setting for Sonya. Most recently, she presented a vibrant zarzuela concert titled Pasión last year, alongside tenor Ismael Jordi and pianist Rubén Fernández Aguirre. Sonya first appeared at Peralada in August 2022, debuting with her art‑song recital Ad una Stella.
