“Norma” at Bayerische Staatsoper
Sonya Yoncheva returns to one of her most celebrated roles, the protagonist of Bellini’s Norma. The performances at the Bayerische Staatsoper are conducted by Gianluca Capuano, with Joseph Calleja, Tara Erraught, Roberto Tagliavini, Emily Sierra and Granit Musliu singing the other roles in Jürgen Rose’s staging. There are four shows, with the first one taking place on May 30 and the following performances on June 2, 7 and 10.
Sonya made her role debut as Norma in a new production at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in 2016, later reprising it at the Gran Teatre del Liceu and at the Metropolitan Opera.
