Open Air Gala Concerts in Sofia
On August 28 and 29, 2025, Sonya Yoncheva returns to Sofia for two major open-air concerts on Alexander Nevsky Square.
Organized by Sonya’s company SY11 Events, the evenings bring together some of the greatest voices of our time:
– August 28: Sonya Yoncheva with Vittorio Grigolo
– August 29: Sonya Yoncheva with two of the legendary Three Tenors, José Carreras and Plácido Domingo
The Italian Evening with Vittorio Grigolo features music from Verdi’s La forza del destino, Rigoletto, and La traviata, as well as Puccini’s Manon Lescaut and Tosca in the first half. The second half presents beloved themes from Italian cinema by Nino Rota, Massimo Ranieri, Gianni Ferrio, Leo Chiosso, Giancarlo Del Re, Ennio Morricone, Chiara Ferrau, Lucio Dalla, Tony Renis, and Alberto Testa.
The Grand Finale with José Carreras and Plácido Domingo includes opera and operetta pieces by Puccini, Cilea, Giordano, Bizet, Dvořák, and Lehár, alongside works by Sorozábal, Satie, Gastaldon, Valente, Bernstein, Leigh, Mancini, de Dios Filiberto, Mendoza, and Cortés.
Both concerts will be accompanied by the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Nayden Todorov.
