“Renaissance” concert at the Salzburg Festival
On August 14, Sonya Yoncheva returns to the Salzburg Festival for a concert within the festival’s Canto Lirico series which will also feature the Cappella Mediterranea led by Leonardo García Alarcón.
For her Renaissance concert at the Haus für Mozart, Sonya will perform pieces by Stradella, Monteverdi, Cavalli, Caldara, Gibbons, Ruiz de Ribayaz, Marín, Purcell, Dowland and Díaz.
The concert will be telecast by Arte and will be online HERE on August 14 at 8:30pm Central European Time.
Sonya Yoncheva made her Salzburg Festival debut in a solo concert in 2017, singing music by Handel, Rameau and Purcell. In 2018, she starred in the title role of an acclaimed run of Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea at the prestigious festival which is celebrating its 100th birthday this year.
