Siberia at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino
From July 7 – 16, Sonya Yoncheva will appear as Stephana in Giordano’s Verismo rarity Siberia at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence.
The new production by Roberto Andò is the first staging of the opera at an important international theatre since many years. Led by Gianandrea Noseda, Sonya will sing alongside Giorgi Sturua, George Petean, Caterina Piva, Giorgio Misseri, Caterina Meldolesi, Antonio Garès, Francesco Verna, Emanuele Cordaro, Francesco Samuele Venuti, Joseph Dahdah, Alfonso Zambuto, Adolfo Corrado, Davide Piva and Amin Ahangaran.
Sonya has sung the role of Stephana at the Festival Radio France in Montpellier for the first time in concert and will reprise it after the performances in Florence at the Teatro Real of Madrid in 2022.
