Sonya Yoncheva brings “Ad una Stella” to Wigmore Hall

On 9 July 2026, Sonya Yoncheva brings her celebrated recital programme Ad una stella to Wigmore Hall.

Joined by pianist Malcolm Martineau, the recital brings together Italian song and operatic repertoire in an intimate programme centred on Puccini, Verdi, Tosti and Martucci, with a Spanish accent added through Albéniz’s Tango from España. Alongside lyrical miniatures such as Puccini’s Sole e amore, Terra e mare and Canto d’anime, the programme includes Verdi’s In solitaria stanza, Ad una stella and L’esule, as well as Tosti’s beloved Ideale.

In the second half, Yoncheva returns to some of Puccini’s most touching heroines, with music from Le Villi, Tosca, La bohème and Madama Butterfly, including Vissi d’arte, Donde lieta uscì and Un bel dì vedremo.

Sonya has presented Ad una stella on major international stages, from Berlin to Tokyo, Buenos Aires and New York.

The recital marks a special London appearance for Sonya Yoncheva at one of the world’s most celebrated venues for song and chamber music.
