Sonya Yoncheva is Norma at the Metropolitan Opera

After her celebrated interpretations at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in 2016 and last year at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Sonya Yoncheva revives her portrayal of Bellini’s Norma, this time at the Metropolitan Opera. Sonya sings the iconic Bel canto masterpiece in a staging by David McVicar with Maurizio Benini conducting. Michael Spyres performs Pollione, Ekaterina Gubanova Adalgisa and Christian Van Horn Oroveso. There are seven shows from February 28 to March 25, with the first performance being radio broadcast on SiriusXM. The March 8 show is being transmitted on SiriusXM as well, and is also part of the Met’s Live Audio Streams on https://www.metopera.org/season/radio/free-live-audio-streams/. The last performance on March 25 will be broadcast live internationally within the Met’s legendary Saturday Matinee Broadcast series.
