Sonya Yoncheva returns to one of the most iconic characters of the operatic repertoire, Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare in Egitto, singing three of the role’s arias on the occasion of the Mozartwoche 2025 with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra led by Thomas Guggeis. Apart from Sonya performing “Se pietà di me non senti”, “Non disperar, chi sà” and “Piangerò la sorte mia”, the concert on January 29 also includes the Vienna Philharmonic playing Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 1, Mozart’s Adagio and Fugue in C minor, K. 546, and his Symphony No. 40 in G minor, K. 550.
