“Tosca” at Wiener Staatsoper
Sonya Yoncheva returns to the Wiener Staatsoper to reprise one of her signature roles, Puccini’s Tosca.
She will appear in Margarete Wallmann’s iconic production in four performances on February 9, 12, 15, and 17, under the baton of Pier Giorgio Morandi. Joining her are Piotr Beczałan and Ambrogio Maestri in the other leading roles, recreating the acclaimed cast from the opera house’s celebrated 2021 run.
This engagement marks the first of three roles for Sonya at the Wiener Staatsoper this season. In the next two months, she will also star in the title role of a new production of Iolanta and portray Maddalena in Andrea Chénier.
