“Tosca” in Gstaad and Baden-Baden
In the wake of her enthusiastically greeted outings as Tosca earlier this month at the Arena di Verona, Sonya Yoncheva reprises the role of the fiery Roman diva for two concert performances at the Gstaad Festival, and at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, on August 25 and 27, 2023, respectively.
Domingo Hindoyan will lead the Gstaad Festival Orchestra & the Chor Konzert Theater Bern, and a stellar cast including Riccardo Massi as Mario Cavaradossi, Erwin Schrott, Matteo Peirone as Sagrestano, David Oštrek as Angelotti and Massimiliano Chiarolla as Spoletta
Tosca continues to prominently appear in the Bulgarian soprano’s upcoming schedule, as in September she will take part in a Japan tour with the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma in Tokyo and Yokohama in the historical Zeffirelli production, reprising it later in the 2023/24 season at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.
